Yavapai College: Performing Arts Center
Prescott, Arizona
Sunday, 2 May 2021 - 3:00 PM
Bach, Vivaldi, Vaughan Williams, and Pärt… The word Baroque means the juxtaposition of elements; the tension of two emotions. This synthesis of emotions was a hallmark of composers of the 17th and 18th-centuries. Composers of the 20th-century also found inspiration in the joining of two disparate parts to create unique worlds of sound. Join musicians from Arizona Philharmonic, guest conductor Joshua Harper, and the debut performance of the professional chorale group Quartz Ensemble as we explore the balance of old and new, choir and orchestra.
